Professional Objective

Educational Travel Curriculum Designer

Patty McElwaine

The purpose of my research project was to design educational travel experiences for adult learners concerned with financial and time limitations. Life-long traveling is no longer an elitist pastime but a way to stay current in today's global economy. Specialists in adult education have found learners have higher retention in programs that provide concrete applications. The educational travel curriculum is specially designed to incorporate cultural activities that leave a lasting impression.

My choice of degree in Adult Learning, Development and Training seemed like a strong fit with 3 years as a corporate trainer and 14 years in higher education. This degree focused on designing training courses for businesses, higher education, and the community to develop programs that prepare adults for today’s global society.

Result: The graduate degree from Regis University provided courses that were meaningful and relevant to my career as a training specialist. The program focused on working with management, clients and employees to design business processes that utilize technology and incorporate accountability.
